Installing fire breaks and performing fuel reduction on large and small properties alike are great ways to protect your property and improve its overall health at the same time. Installing the fire lines around your property then following up with low intensity burns can remove fuels and generate new and healthy growth within your forested land. Maintaining the fire breaks and properly managing your wooded acres will provide a valuable barrier for the future in the event of a wildfire on or off your property.
In addition to many other components and most important for your home is the creation of defensible space. From cleaning gutters, removing combustible vegetation and hardscaping to thinning tree stands, removal of dead fuel loads and vegetation at 100 feet from your home. Breaking the chain of fuels or disrupting the chain to remove the chance of fire spread and reducing the radiant heat potential applied to your home will make the difference in your home surviving extreme fire conditions.
